Hello!
I am Monica Wolfe Stewart, Ph.D., LSSP, a Licensed Psychologist and Neuropsychologist based in Austin, Texas. My professional focus is neuropsychological and psychological assessment and intervention for children, adolescents, and adults. Through private practice at the Texas Psychology and Assessment Center, I provide comprehensive services for individuals and families facing a wide range of cognitive, learning, and emotional challenges.
Specialized Clinical Practice
Since 2007, I have offered neuropsychological and psychological services in private practice, now located at 925 S. Capital of Texas Highway, Suite 102, Austin, TX 78746. My clinical work centers on conducting detailed evaluations for complex learning concerns, attention and memory difficulties, and emotional and behavioral challenges. I also provide individual and couples therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, parent coaching, and consultation. My approach is client-centered: I tailor every evaluation and intervention to the unique needs and goals of each client and family.
Education and Advanced Training
My academic foundation began at Texas Woman’s University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Psychology. I completed my Ph.D. in School Psychology at Texas A&M University, where my training emphasized Pediatric Neuropsychology. My dissertation, "Executive Function Processes: Inhibition, Working Memory, Planning, and Attention in Children and Youth with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder," reflects my longstanding interest in the cognitive and behavioral processes that influence learning and development.
I hold licensure as both a Psychologist and a Specialist in School Psychology in Texas, and my training includes post-doctoral specialization in Pediatric Neuropsychology in both university and public school settings. My clinical and school-based experiences span public schools, and specialty clinics, where I have worked with children and adolescents with a variety of acquired and congenital neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and complex learning and behavioral disorders.

My background includes:
Research and Professional Contributions
Research has been a cornerstone of my career. I have served as a research assistant and case manager for large-scale studies, conducted pilot studies on executive functioning in young children, and contributed to meta-analytic reviews of key neuropsychological measures. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and clinical handbooks, and I have presented my research at national conferences, including the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
My publications include investigations of executive function, ADHD, and the psychometric properties of neuropsychological tests. I have also contributed chapters on neuropsychological assessment, central auditory processing disorder, and anxiety and developmental disorders in children.
A Client-Centered Philosophy
Throughout my career, my guiding principle has been to place clients and families at the center of care. Whether addressing the complexities of learning and attention disorders, supporting recovery after brain injury, or providing therapy for emotional and behavioral concerns, I strive to offer evidence-based, compassionate, and actionable guidance. My goal is to empower clients with knowledge, clarity, and practical strategies to enhance well-being and quality of life.
